Aaawww...This Story Is Just Plain Old.. FUN!!

I loved this story! It was fun, and it kept me giggling all the way through, even when Fisher and Reef had to fight the "wannabe ninja's." Truth be told, I'd rather read a story by an author with a silly sense of humor then one that drones on about drama and reality any day!

My thoughts as I was reading books one and two was that the story line was so much more then you would have thought a story like "The Swan Princess" would be. It may be because there are several brothers involved with the families curse? Somehow though, the author's made each of the brother's stories so much different from each other, that I was impressed. I was worried that being of the same story line the plot of each might get redundant. But they didn't! Each brother got "caught" by the curse in their own unique way. And, the way they each encountered there mates and formed the "bonds" were unique as well. My only problem now is, waiting to find out what happens to the other brothers!!! LOL

Anyway, my final thoughts for would be reader's is, if you like serious drama, read Shakespeare.
But if you lighthearted silliness, as I do, then this one should be fun for you too.

The following is an example of one of the many funny parts that kept me on the floor while reading the story for fear of falling onto it from laughter: :D

"They (Reef & Fisher) straightened up their clothes and rushed to the door. When a series of loud honking noises came from inside, Reef cringed. `There's something you should know. We kind of filled your living room with swans.'

Fisher blinked a few times before giving a slight shake of his head. `Come again?'

`When we found out that you were turned into a swan, Xanthi and I went searching for you. Since we didn't know which one was you, we ended up taking all of them home. The only problem was when we got them here, we still didn't know which one was you. Plus, when I started kissing them, they got really pissed.'

`You kissed the swans?' (Fisher)

Reef tilted his head to the side. `Yeah, it seemed like a good idea at the time, but now I can see how silly it really was. You don't think I'll get the Bird Flu, do you?'

The corners of Fisher's mouth twitched.
`I'm pretty sure you'll be okay.'

Fisher opened the door and they were greeted by a sea of white feathers, a roomful of ticked off birds and one harried fairy. Xanthi's hair stood on end and his shirt had several tears in it.

`These birds are Satan's spawn,' Xanthi declared.

He tried to kick a bird, only to end up stubbing his toe...

Great book!

This book was great for our 8,7,4 year old who are always comparing everything with each other. They enjoyed the illustrations and we had a good discussion about the message of the book. Two of our children have special needs that require some extra attention and this book helped illustrate we love all our children just the same, and give them what they need.

Esta libro entretenido e interesante es para aquellos que quieren saber y conocer mas sobre este fenomeno llamado Zeta, de como esta la situacion en el noroeste del pais, de los pueblos fantasma, de como a golpeado el crimen organizado a este hermoso pais. Recomiendo La Guerra de Los Zetas y le doy un 10, 5 estrellas y 3 diamantes al escritor Diego Osorno por esta obra de arte.

It is an amazing resource for students who are just starting their study of ESL teaching and a great refresher/review for teachers who have been teaching for a while.

Speaking English isn't the same as teaching English!

I've spent many years in foreign countries- traveling, studying, working, living... I've even had an opportunity to teach English here and there, though I would not count myself a long term or "professional" English teacher. For the less initiated, this is a good type of book to start with. I read it as part of a short course on how to teach English to foreigners. The funny thing I learned from even that short experience was that being a native speaker of English, and I'd say a pretty articulate one at that, does not really "translate" into being able to teach the language to others! Teaching a language is its own skill, totally apart and separate from understanding and using it deftly. I was never quite able to justify a several thousand dollar TOEFL course or something like that as I didn't see myself doing a lot of English teaching. That would probably be a worthwhile investment for someone looking to really support themselves overseas (or for that matter, here in the US) teaching English to non-speakers. That said, from having traveled the world extensively for lengthy periods I would say that native English speakers always seem to be in fairly high demand, even without teaching experience. Being able to "self-educate" on how to teach English- using books like this and reference materials you could find online, etc., might be enough to jumpstart a mini-career in English teaching, or at least open the door enough to try it out and figure out if its your thing, if you want to invest more into it with a formal course and make it a career, etc. Also along those lines, it is much easier to teach advance students of English than beginners, as your classes will be more around conversation and correcting common mistakes made, etc., and not about teaching the basic grammatical building blocks of the language. The types of rules we native speakers learn in grade school and internalize, and notice instantly when something strikes our ear as "wrong", but don't necessarily "know" or remember the specific rules that are associated with them in order to teach them to others. If you are thinking about dipping your toe in the English teaching market, read a few books like this one, talk to people who have done it, take a class if you have the time/can afford it, avail yourself of all of the free online materials, and then just give it a shot! Maybe you can find a local place to tutor foreigners here in the States before taking off on an extended trip abroad where you might be looking to supplement your income/defray travel expenses by teaching English. Your confidence will expand by leaps and bounds with a little bit of real world experience, and soon you'll realize that you can take on your own students and plan lessons, etc., especially for the (perhaps counter-intuitively) easier students, who are the more advanced ones. Best of luck in your career, and if it applies, safe travels!

The Complete Kit

This product is the full "Kit 1," "11 e" for "Lessons 1 - 60" for "GDP/11" and it includes the Textbook, Student Word Manual, Software Registration Card (Access Code for on-line assignments), and an Easel (to prop your book on). I bought this product as "New" and "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com," because I did not want to risk not getting a good access code. I received a brand new, shrink-wrapped "Kit 1," so the access code worked perfectly! If I need an access code, I only buy products that are listed as "New" and "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com," because it is not worth the risk of getting a code which has already been used. I got this for just over $108, but at my school's bookstore it would have cost me over $160, so this is a great value, and is the exact same kit my bookstore was selling. I only wish Amazon.com had done a better job with the description, which is why I give this a four star review. I assumed it was the complete, new kit, but it did not say anything about the Access Code or Easel on Amazon's description, so I was not sure. Also, it would have been nice to have a better title, and more pictures. There seem to be a lot of listings on Amazon for this type of package, but it was difficult to tell which was the correct one I needed. ISBN 978-0-07-746760-9 and Part of ISBN is 978-0-07-735660-6, whatever that means. There are also two MHID #'s next to the ISBN's.

Product key worked flawlessly

What can I say, the Gregg College Keyboarding & Document Processing kit is exactly what it claims to be and does exactly what it's supposed to do. The difference though is that I saved over $60 by buying this kit through Amazon.com vs going to my college bookstore. Some of the other reviewers claim that their kits didn't come with a functioning product key for the software; I ordered my book through Amazon Prime (not some 3rd party retailer on Amazon) so I knew I was going to receive an actual, new book. Amazon had my package sitting on my doorstep less than a day and a half later, and everything was shrink wrapped and the product key worked flawlessly. When Amazon says they'll send you a "new" product they truly do send you a "new" product, you just have to ensure that you buy it directly from Amazon.

Access Code for Book

The book appeared brand new eventhough it was sold as used. It was delivered promptly however the access code did not work so I still had to purchase a brand new book and lost the money I spent ordering this book on line:(.
